Cedega 6.02 as well as wine are now back to splash/n/crash. Didn't see that one on the known issues, so figured it would go here.

This can be fixed by reverting to the old winecoreaudio.drv file, which means you won't have any sounds.
I'm back to experiencing space as it was meant to be, silent.
That ain't an option under cedega. And personally not an option for me under wine either.
If wine is working without sound then the issue is clearly with the audio portion of EVE, which should at least narrow things down for Transgaming/CCP in regard to supporting the "other guys".

Well after a little accident with a cloning vat there appears to be far too many ...
Yo, Ling, you want another cedega dump file, or do ya know what's kerboshed already?

Please check that the following 3 lines are in your prefs.ini if running under cedega (or wine).
audio=0 audiodriver=0 voiceenable=0
uh. whoa. So i'm guessing that means cedega waits for a transgaming update?
Missed your second post. checking now.

Linghorm, now change with those changes to prefs.ini. Sending the tar file to you...then bed. (Graveyard worker needs to hide from the sun.

Originally by: CCP Zulupark2 At the moment I'd advise people to download a fresh full client if they're having issues with files in the /bin/ folder being corrupted. This appears to be limited to only Windows Vista users at the moment.
We're working on finding the cause for this though and hope to have something on it soon.
Just installed the patch to my wine .9.41 client and getting this exact same error on attempt to start eve.. Just an fyi.

Just installed via wine .9.41 and getting this exact same error. Just an fyi.
Can you list here what files are in your /bin/ directory please?
~/link to .wine/drive_c/Program Files/CCP/EVE/bin$ ls alut.dll msxml4a.dll vivoxsdk.dll audio.dll msxml4.dll Vxc.dll blue.dll msxml4r.dll Vxc.dll.2.config chartdir.dll NetClient.dll VxPortManager.dll db.dll NetUtil.dll VxPortManager.dll.2.config dbghelp.dll ortp.dll VxRTCCORE.dll destiny.dll pyexpat.pyd VxRTCCORE.dll.2.config ExeFile.exe _PyFreeTypeP.dll win2k Microsoft.VC80.CRT python25.dll winxp Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest RedistD3DXOnly.exe wrap_oal.dll msvcp71.dll _socket.pyd msvcr71.dll _trinity.dll
-------fyi, prior to patch this install was working fine. Checked the command line start and it tosses this error: fixme:actctx:FindActCtxSectionStringW 00000000 (null) 2 L"msvcr80.dll" 0x347b2
The modal dialog Verification Failure does come up and gives the same worded error that the vista users are reporting.

Originally by: Mephysto For those people having a problem with the client warning of modified, damaged or corrupt extra files in the /bin/ directory, the issue is that some old files have been cleaned out of our internal builds. However, anyone running the same client for a long time without a reinstall will still have those files available.
That was the problem for the wine install. an extra manifest file in the /bin directory as well as the /bin/Micrsoft one.
This allows the wine client to start as long as audio is unchecked in the client. If it is checked via the escape key menu, it immediately ctd's.

Originally by: Bellum Eternus Anyone else getting massive crashing on warp in/undocking?
I crashed 4 times last night under those exact circumstances. Twice while undocking and twice while coming out of warp after activating an ancient acceleration gate.
This was a crash like I've never seen before. The client just vanished. On my screen one moment, completely gone the next.
If it helps, it only was happening on my Vista machine. I run 3 PC's each with their own client. All 3 clients were running simulatanously on the differnt machines with the three characters traveling through the same space together. The client on the Vista machines experienced these crashes while the 2 other clients running on XP were fine.
Exact same situation for me as well - using Vista, repeated crashes while warping to a location.
I'll report that one of my corp members had this experience last night during a fleet operation. It took 3 logins/reboots to finally get in game and stay there. I believe he's running XP, but just wanted to fyi here.
